By accessing and using the POPX website and software, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Software License

POPX is proprietary software owned by Yuval Cohen. By subscribing to a POPX tier on Patreon, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software according to the following terms:

You are allowed to:

  • Use POPX in commercial and non-commercial projects, including shows, installations, videos, advertisements, and client work.
  • Modify POPX internally for your own workflow and personal use.
  • Use POPX inside TouchDesigner on any machine you own.

You are NOT allowed to:

  • Redistribute, copy, upload, or share POPX, any of its components, internal networks, GLSL shaders, or source code.
  • Use any part of POPX's code (GLSL, logic, operators, or structures) to create derivative tools, plugins, products, or systems intended for sale or commercial release.
  • Sell, license, or commercialize any software or tool based on or derived from POPX.
  • Publish modified versions of POPX, even for free.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

POPX is distributed through Patreon. All payments, subscriptions, refunds, and billing are handled by Patreon according to their terms of service. By subscribing, you also agree to Patreon's Terms of Use.

4. Software Updates

POPX is provided "as is" and is continuously being developed. Features may change, and we do not guarantee that specific features will remain available in future updates. Active subscribers receive access to updates as they are released.

5. TouchDesigner Dependency

POPX is a plugin designed exclusively for TouchDesigner, developed by Derivative Inc. POPX relies entirely on TouchDesigner's runtime environment, rendering engine, and underlying systems to function. As such:

  • Any bugs, limitations, or issues within TouchDesigner may directly affect POPX functionality and performance.
  • POPX compatibility depends on TouchDesigner version updates and changes made by Derivative Inc.
  • We are not responsible for issues caused by TouchDesigner bugs, updates, or platform-specific limitations.
  • Users should ensure they are running a supported version of TouchDesigner as specified in our System Requirements.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

POPX is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all systems. As a TouchDesigner plugin, POPX inherits any limitations or issues present in the host application. Use of POPX is at your own risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yuval Cohen and POPX shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the software or website.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of POPX after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Privacy Policy

The POPX documentation website does not directly collect personal information. However:

  • Patreon: When you subscribe to POPX, Patreon collects your payment and account information according to their privacy policy.
  • Discord: If you join our Discord community, Discord collects information according to their privacy policy.
  • Hosting: Our website host may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, browser type, pages visited) for security and analytics purposes.
